Earlier this summer, the Washington Post ran a story about pop-ups. The phenomenon of adding an extra story to a single family row house and then turning it into condos is increasing throughout the city.
Several ANC6B10 residents have expressed concern to me about the increased number of pop-ups in our ANC. These concerns include decreased parking, dumpsters, and poor construction impacting neighbors.
ANC6B10 is outside of the historical boundaries and as such, proposed pop-ups do not have to be approved by the ANC.
If you have concerns about pop-ups on your block, please contact me. I’d like to learn more about the problems you are having.
